Dutch company specialized in in the Marine & Offshore and Industry & Infrastructure markets which carries out projects and maintenance & service operations in technical automation, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering; is looking for a Project Manager for their Spanish branch located in Barcelona as part of their Yachting business unit.


Job objective:

Managing the project execution following technical and financial client specifications, translated to (partially self-determined) budgets and construction drawings. Realisation of varying tasks such as calculations, engineering, coordination and planning as a whole cycle. The project manager actively seeks for work to ensure the continuation of the department. For this the project manager will be in close contact with the Branch manager and other project managers.

Hierarchical Position: The Project Manager works closely and reports to the Branch Manager.

Contacts: Internal: Electrical technicians, Service Engineers, Service Coordinator, Branch Manager. External: Representatives of clients, both shipyard and the owners.

Tasks:

This list of tasks is an indication and not restrictive; the job objective is leading: • In charge of daily management on site • Coordinating one or a more projects • Recording and processing calculations for quotations • Cost management for the quoted assignments • Advising clients • Solving (potentially complex) problems • Determining project definitions (functional and technical requirements and budgets) • Conducting (sub)studies on feasibility, technical design and fit. • Putting together project schedules • Drawing up cost price calculations (or having them drawn up) • Consulting with internal departments • Speaking to clients/ potential clients (shipyard/ project management/ crew) and participating in meetings • Calculating cost prices or required materials for production or (parts of) projects • Drawing up final accounts for projects in terms of work to be added or subtracted. • Planning employee and/or production capacity • Monitoring the quality and progress of the project and the accompanying budgets • Drawing up subsequent calculations • Monitoring the tasks of Electrical Engineers

Requirements

Knowledge:

Knowledge must be equal to Higher professional education of Electrical Engineering in terms of level and content, with courses/training such as Project Management and coaching leadership. Minimum experience of 3/5 years in the yachting industry of which at least 3 years in a project managers role. Sales experience is an advantage.

Independence:

Able to work autonomously preparing the job, discussing the service on board with the client and reporting.

Social skills:

Customer-friendly attitude, able and willing to work independently, sense of responsibility, collaboration and consultation, result-oriented, problemsolving skills, analyzing problems. Critical thinking

Expression skills:

 English language fluently spoken and written is required.

Inconvenient circumstances:

Occasionally you’ll have to inspect on energized installations, confined spaces or carry out works on heights (masts). Occasionally you can be asked in the weekends or evenings to finalize inspections, projects, commercial visits and/or administration completion. The position requires flexibility to travel and work abroad. Driving license is a must.


Benefits


Salary Range:

Depending on Collective Labor Agreement plus professional background, experience and reached targets. Primes and bonus for finalization of projects and reached targets. Yearly Education & Development Plan.
