Engineering Oil & Gas Company is looking for a Port Captain - Master for their project in Karimun
Role Description
▪ Take command on any seagoing ship of 3000 gross tonnage or more, and according with Company Procedure able to operate
any not DP vessel.
▪ Take command of the vessel, according to International Conventions and Regulations, Flag State requirements and local
regulations, implementing safety and environmental policy of the Company.
▪ Act as Safety leader of the vessel and ensure compliance with international and local laws as well as Flag State, Class
requirements, International Conventions and Company policies.
▪ Act as fully conversant with ISM Code (and/or SOLAS).
▪ Act as fully conversant with MARPOL
▪ Act as the Ship Security Officer as defined in the ISPS Code. Apply all the Codes requirements.
▪ Apply MLC2006 requirements.
▪ Whenever required, act as OIM as defined in IMO resolution A. 1079(28).
▪ As part of the vessel management, ensure the best performance of the vessel and its crew to achieve the project requirements.
Task
▪ Implement and maintain the Company SMS and ensure that all crew observe company policy and standing order.
▪ Ensure all activities are carried out according to State, Class, Flag and client requirements, including accidents reporting and
dangerous occurrences.
▪ Ensure adherence with project and Company plans, liaise with proper shore office department for the review of the operation
manual, following of changes to equipment or standard operating procedures and reports unsafe act/conditions and other
issues with implications for safe operation and navigability in compliance with HSES procedures and company SMS.
▪ Manoeuvre and handle the vessel in safe conditions. Ensure that trim, stability and stress of the vessel are within the
maximum allowed limit in accordance with international Rules/Conventions. Monitor and act if necessary during all marine
operations and manoeuvres of approaching vessels or cargo barges as per Company procedures.
▪ Ensure that on board training and drill program is prepared in due time as directed by Company and SOLAS/relevant
requirements, monitor all person embarking/dis-embarking the vessel and maintain personnel on board (POB) records, ensure
that the crew meets the requirements as per safe manning document issued by the flag administration and STCW Code.
▪ Maintain appropriate log and record certifications in accordance with State, Class, Flag, ISM, ISPS, MLC2006, SOLAS,
MARPOL, relevant statutory and client requirements.
▪ Liaise closely with the other members of the vessel management, communicate work status at end of shift and issue handover
report.
▪ Have the overriding authority and responsibility on all on board personnel to make decisions with respect to safety and
security of crew, safety of the vessel and marine environment and to request assistance from Company as necessary.
▪ Direct and motivate the Crew, the Technical Crew and all other personnel during any emergency situation.
▪ Issue instructions and orders to the crew members, Marine and Technical. For Technical personnel, the Master has to agree
previously with the Offshore Construction Manager.
▪ Can assign special duties to the crew Marine and Technical. For Technical personnel, the Master has to agree previously with
the Offshore Construction Manager.
▪ Be responsible for onboard Marine QMS Implementation in compliance with Applicable ISO Quality Standards, Quality
Policies, applicable rules and regulation (Corporate/Company/Third Party-Certification on bodies).
▪ Be responsible for ensuring correct rigging/lifting equipment certification management/traceability performed by Chief
Mate/Officer in Charge for Nav. Watch in line with applicable requirements.
▪ Ensure Vessel Management Manual/Procedures/Standing Instruction/Standing Orders are constantly kept dates and take
actions in order to ensure that actual requirements are maintained at all times.
▪Make sure that needed reference documentation is constantly available for the crew into Vessel Portal
▪ Check Revision status on monthly basis and inform home office.
▪ Ensure correct Management of Vessel Related NCR, in line with applicable Corporate/Class Guideline
▪ Ensure correct implementation of Marine Related MOC.
▪ Ensure Lessons Learned System feeding as applicable.
▪ Ensure Vessel Reporting as per applicable Project and/or Corporate Requirements
▪ Ensure Preparation/Distribution of Standing Instructions.
▪ With reference to Vessel Maintenance Activities:
- support ASSET Team with reference SOW definition, as well as Subcontractors Applicable Technical Requirements
- to be responsible for supporting Maintenance PMT with retrieving Vessel Related Documentation when needed.
▪ Well Control course (where applicable).
▪ MOU Stability course (where applicable)
Master can delegate, keeping the responsibility of the task, for one or more of above items to:
- Chief Mate
- Clerical Staff (when present on board).
Requirements
- B1/B2 English level
2. Minimum five (5) years as Chief Mate on off-shore activity
