Company from the Oil & Gas industry is looking for a Methods Engineer for an onshore project based in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.


Mission:


- Ensure that all the Fabrication & Construction Methods Activities are properly and correctly carried out, ensuring the required level of Safety & Quality while meeting budget constraints.
- Develop fabrication / construction procedures, study and define operations ensuring structural components integrity in temporary construction phases like erection, transportation/lifting/load-out of subassemblies, develope and issue calculations and procedures for lifting, weighing, onshore transportation, load-out and ballasting, ensuring strict compliance with HSE requirements.
- Provide support to other functions including proposal & project teams (from home office during bid phase & early detailed engineering phase, then at fabrication yards & construction sites) as required/needed guiding towards, agreeing upon and implementing the most efficient and effective solutions for the fabrication/construction activities benefiting project economics, liaising with the Engineering function to ensure early integration into the Design.
- Capable of acting as constructability coordinator and assisting project-nominated constructability coordinators & construction engineers, organize and participate in design and constructability reviews in order to ensure fabrication & construction requirements (HSE & Productivity) are also integrated early into the Design.
- During bid & early EPC phase; assist the Constructon Methods Lead in preparing requests for quotation & technical bid evaluations for the activities pertaining to SME's domain of expertise.

Tasks:

-Ensure work is executed in accordance with plans, design codes and specifications.
- Ensure optimum interface with other members of the Construction methods department (incl. draftsmen & other engineers) and other members of the Construction & Subcontracting department (e.g. construction managers & engineers), project teams, MWS & clients as adequate. Ensure technical coordination with internal and external clients, including attendance at interface meetings.
- Maintain filing system, document review and distribution as adequate. Ensure the relevant feedback and lessons learned are captured & recorded within the system.
- Develop methods statements / procedures, supervise assigned draftsmen and external subcontractors, ensuring that deliverables, equipment, facilities and services meet specified requirements (putting HSE first, ensuring full compliance with international standards, while challenging clients' requirements when required for the benefit of the project).
- Perform supporting analyses (incl. structural / civil / geotechnical verifications) and associated drawings for complex operations such as heavy lifts (critical up-endings, roll-ups & the like), onshore transportations (stability & GBP checks), weighing operations, load-outs (incl. strength checks, ballasting & mooring analyses) and sea transportation, as required (incl. preparation of specialized subcontractors' and/or internal engineering resources' scopes of work as appropriate).
- Participate to site visits, supervise complex operations on site (and manage them if required by project / construction management teams). ---- Participate to associated Risk Assessment sessions / definition of HSE plans.
- Act as constructability coordinator during bids / conceptual / FEED phases and construction managers/engineers during Detailed Engineering Phase as required (e.g. in the definition of most appropriate erection methods, fabrication / construction sequences, layouts, pre-fabrication & modularization strategies; carry out various feasibility studies, etc.)


Requirements

▪ Field experience of 8 years for both offshore and onshore.

▪ Qatar Gas projects experience is highly recommended.

91 consecutive calendar days on site followed by 16 paid calendar days of leave

Working days/hours:

5 days a week at 8 hours a day
